| Pilau Rice |
Ingredients
- 1 mug Basmati Rice
- 1 tsp Turmeric
- 1 Bay leaf
- 4 Cardamom Pods
- 4 Cloves
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1/2 tsp Fennel Seeds
- 1 3/4 mugs of boiling Water
- Pinch of Salt
Instructions
- Soak rice in cold water for approx 30 then drain and rinse.
- Melt the butter in a heavy saucepan.
- Add in all the spices and salt.
- Stir in the rice until it is coated in butter and spices.
- Add in the boiling water.
- Stir once when it comes to the boil.
- Cover with a tight fitting lid and simmer for approx 15 minutes on the lowest heat setting.
