Ingredients
  • 1 mug Basmati Rice
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 4 Cardamom Pods
  • 4 Cloves
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Fennel Seeds
  • 1 3/4 mugs of boiling Water
  • Pinch of Salt
Instructions
  1. Soak rice in cold water for approx 30 then drain and rinse.
  2. Melt the butter in a heavy saucepan.
  3. Add in all the spices and salt.
  4. Stir in the rice until it is coated in butter and spices.
  5. Add in the boiling water.
  6. Stir once when it comes to the boil.
  7. Cover with a tight fitting lid and simmer for approx 15 minutes on the lowest heat setting.
