What will you cook?
£20 per adult, £10 per child (under 16), 3 hour class
We have a rolling programme of wild food forages run by medical herbalist and lifelong forager Jesper Launder, who leads groups to forage for and then cook the wild food. Jesper is a very knowledgeable wild food expert and teaches groups how to successfully identify edible plants and explains their uses: ground elder as a substitute for spinach, for example, and three-cornered leeks instead of chives. You can’t be much more seasonal eating wild food and our foraging walks reflect this, with special mushroom hunts in the autumn and elder flower picking in the summer.
Wild food forages take place in Didsbury, Chorlton, Sale and Hebden Bridge.
Our foraging sessions are £20 per adult and £10 per child under 16 and accompanied by a paying adult, and usually last three hours, full day foraging events cost a little more. If you are trying to book a place for a child on one of the events and are finding that there are no places left, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Remember to dress for the weather and wear footwear suitable for walking on possibly muddy paths.
Please note that our foraging events are not suitable for wheelchair users or individuals with mobility issues – whilst the pace is gentle, you need to be comfortable being on your feet for 3 hours, and be happy to climb over the occasional stile!
