Spring Wild Food Forage & Walk on 31 May in Hebden Bridge

May 31, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

£15 – £30

Join a professional forager on a guided forage to discover what wild edibles are on your doorstep, for truly local, seasonal and fresh ingredients you don’t need to look much further than your local park or wild space.

Through these foraging walks we will be looking at a range of habitats from woodland to meadows identifying edible and poisonous plants and looking how you can utilise the edibles within your kitchen.
During your walk you’ll be able to taste a small range of wild preserves such as syrups, salts, alcohol infusions and chutneys.

Hebden Bridge

Meet at the main entrance to the woods is on Keighley Road, next to what used to be the Nutclough Tavern and is now Zion housing co-op.  On the A6033 to Keighley heading north out of Hebden Bridge, after the second set of traffic lights, turn right (walkers access). Postcode HX7 8HA Directions here.

Please note! Our foraging sessions start promptly, so arrive 10 minutes before that time. It is important that you arrive on time, so that others are not kept waiting. While we always try to finish on time, there is always a chance that a foraging & cooking session could run over slightly, so please be prepared for this.

Please note, if you are having any difficulty finding us, or need to call someone in the hour before the cooking session for any other reason, please call 07724 860081 (Totally Wild UK lead this event).

  • We can only provide two concessionary tickets per session.
  • As a not for profit social enterprise with no core funding, our mission is to be as inclusive as possible, so we rely upon the honesty & integrity of those booking at a concessionary rate.
  • Please negotiate concessionary rate with [email protected]

For anyone able to fund places for people in extreme hardship, we would gratefully appreciate funding to set up specific sessions in the community to address an urgent communal need.
