‘Feed Your Future’
We currently cook with residents of homeless prevention hostels to share cooking skills and food safety knowledge, to increase confidence and to provide a nourishing, hearty meal.
Thanks to funding from the European Social Fund we are currently cooking at The Longford Centre and Hope House, where we have cooked some great food with some incredible people - and had a really fun time along the way! We are sharing the skills to cook freshly baked pizza, veggie curry, lasagne and roast dinners all from scratch.
As part of the same project, Lifeshare will also be providing some drop-in digital inclusion sessions as part of their 'Digital Zero To Digital Hero' programme.
Groundwork’s ‘Grow, Cook & Eat For Veterans’
We run cooking sessions for Armed Forces Veterans at allotment plots to develop cooking skills to make healthy and nutritional meals using locally grown produce. These sessions are part of a Groundwork’s ‘Grow, Cook & Eat’ project helping veterans to develop new skills around both food growing and cookery skills. The regular sessions help isolated veterans to build social networks and join the allotment community, which is ripe across Greater Manchester.
