Cooking in the Community

Adrift
Short trailer for “Adrift” by Clara Casian (20 mins). This Lottery Funded project & film was about raising awareness of the complex issues surrounding homelessness. It aimed to highlight the facts and the misconceptions about homelessness in the hope that attitudes change.
Partington
We ran a pilot cooking session in Partington, in collaboration with The Bread & Butter Thing, where we cooked with ingredients that had been given out that day to the public. We found that many did not not how to cook basic vegetables like courgettes, squashes or aubergines, preventing them from making use of their food. By having a cook on site, to talk through the cooking of the ingredients, allowing people to taste what can be done, was very inspiring for everyone.
Community Cooking
Here’s a little oversight of the work that we do in the community – cooking from scratch, empowering communities to eat well.

They are invaluable, but equally we hope that we enrich their lives too. Here are some volunteers talking about their experiences whilst helping us with an event run at the Whitworth Art Gallery for the public as part of the Manchester International Festival 2017.
